# Barbershop Digital Signage

Barbershop digital signage for service prices, haircut galleries, barber introductions, and walk-in information. Play your shop's images and videos on Apple TV.

Barbershop digital signage gives the TV by the waiting chairs content about the shop itself. Show the service menu, examples of cuts and beard work, introductions to the barbers, and the instructions guests need when they arrive. A guest can see what the shop offers before asking about a service.

Better Signage runs your prepared images and silent videos through a physical Apple TV connected to a landscape HDMI display. Manage the playlist in a browser and select the TVs that receive it. Standard plans include unlimited screens, whether you have one waiting area or several shops.

## Put service names and prices on the waiting area TV

Build the menu around the services your barbershop provides. Use the same names staff use at the counter, and keep prices beside the correct service. A haircut, beard service, or combined service can have a short explanation when the name alone does not tell a new guest what is included.

Show any shop-approved conditions where they apply, such as a price that depends on the requested service. Separate menu categories if the full list becomes hard to read from the bench. The TV version should let someone identify a service without needing to study a photographed paper menu.

## Make a haircut gallery guests can talk about

Use photographs of work you have permission to show, with enough space to see the cut or beard shape. A short caption and verified barber credit give the image context. The gallery can provide a reference when a guest describes what they want to the person cutting their hair.

Group the images by a useful subject, such as a series of permitted beard-work examples or cuts by one barber. Avoid presenting the photos as a promise of an identical result. Keep the conversation about the guest's own request with the barber, and keep client names out of the public artwork.

## Introduce the barbers behind the work

A barber card can pair a current portrait and name with a brief, accurate description of the services that person offers. Follow it with verified examples of their work so the introduction has a visual reference. Use approved photos and check credits before publishing.

For shops with more than one location, keep team cards specific to the shop where they apply. A general brand introduction can be shared across locations while each waiting area introduces its own team. These are staff introductions, not live availability or a duty roster.

## Explain walk-ins and introduce shop products

If your shop accepts walk-ins, display the actual process for checking in or asking about a chair. Point to the counter or other real arrival point and let staff handle who is next. A general booking instruction can sit alongside it if that is part of the shop's process.

Retail cards can introduce products the shop carries using a packaging photo, approved description, and checked price. Place a clear invitation to ask a barber about the product. Staff need to update the artwork when a product or price changes because the playlist does not read the checkout system.

## Run the shop's visual playlist beside your existing music

Better Signage videos play muted, so a haircut montage can run without adding another audio source to the shop. Put any explanation or barber credit into the finished file. Upload JPEG or PNG image cards and videos; video uploads are converted to H.264 MP4 before playlist use.

Use a physical Apple TV connected to the landscape TV over HDMI. Check tvOS 26.5 or later and App Store installation eligibility before buying equipment. Hardware is supplied separately. Free is $0 per month for 50 MB of storage, and paid plans start at $4.99 per month for 250 MB. Every standard plan includes unlimited screens; internet is needed for setup and publishing new content.

## What to put on your screen

### Waiting bench menu loop

Show the shop name and check-in instruction, then service cards with approved names, current prices, and relevant conditions. Follow with a cut gallery so the loop combines practical information with examples of the work.

### A barber and their work

Introduce one current barber with an approved portrait and role description, then show permitted photos with verified credits. Give each cut space rather than putting a dozen thumbnails on one screen.

### Beard-work reference gallery

Use a short set of approved photographs with captions describing the work shown. Guests can use the images to start a conversation about their request without the display promising the same result.

### Walk-in arrival card

Name the place guests should approach when they arrive and explain the shop's confirmed check-in process. Refer queue and wait questions to staff, who can provide the current information.

### Product at the counter

Show a product the shop currently sells with a recognizable package photo, reviewed description, and verified price. Add the shop's actual route for asking a barber about it.

### Silent work montage

Sequence permitted clips of finished cuts with barber credits included in the footage. Make a landscape edit that stays understandable without music, so it can run beside the shop's separate audio setup.

## Set up your digital signage on Apple TV

Connect a compatible Apple TV to your landscape TV over HDMI. Install Better Signage, open the app, and enter its pairing code in your web dashboard. Give each screen a name that tells you where it is.

1. Upload your finished JPEG or PNG slides and videos. Video conversion runs on our servers, and signage videos play silently.
2. Arrange the files in a playlist and choose how long each item stays on screen. Build text and logos into your artwork, with room around the edges for the default crop-to-fill display.
3. Select the Apple TVs you want to update and choose Play. The players download and check the media before starting the playlist. Send it again with Play whenever your content changes.

You need physical Apple TV hardware eligible to install Better Signage, running tvOS 26.5 or later. Internet is required for setup, downloads, and new publishes. Keep the app open on each player while it runs your signage.

## Common questions about barbershop digital signage

### What should a barbershop TV show?

A service menu, haircut or beard-work gallery, barber introductions, and general walk-in instructions can form a useful shop playlist. Add reviewed retail product cards if your shop carries products.

### Can the TV display who is next or an estimated wait?

No. Better Signage has no queue or booking-system connection. It can show a prepared check-in instruction, while staff and your existing process handle individual guests and current wait information.

### Will signage video interrupt our shop music?

Better Signage video playback is muted. Use your separate music setup for audio and include any necessary explanation in the video image before uploading.

### How much does barbershop digital signage cost?

Free is $0 per month with 50 MB of media storage and unlimited screens. Paid storage starts at $4.99 per month for 250 MB on standard plans that also include unlimited screens. You supply compatible Apple TVs and displays separately.

### Can I use an ordinary TV as the service menu display?

Yes, with a landscape HDMI display and a compatible physical Apple TV on tvOS 26.5 or later. Check installation eligibility in the Better Signage App Store listing. The smart TV's built-in Apple TV app cannot run the player.

### How do we change a price or replace a barber introduction?

Update the prepared artwork or remove the outdated item, then select the intended Apple TVs and choose Play. Saving a playlist edit alone does not publish the change to the shop screen.
