# Salon Digital Signage

Salon digital signage for service menus, stylist portfolios, product displays, and reception information. Run your prepared salon content on Apple TV.

Salon digital signage puts your service menu and your work where guests can see them during a visit. A reception TV can explain service categories and consultation options, while a separate display can show stylist portfolios or introduce retail products your salon carries.

Better Signage loops your prepared images and silent videos on physical Apple TVs connected to landscape HDMI displays. Upload files and build playlists in a browser, then publish to the salon TVs you select. Every standard plan includes unlimited screens, so reception and portfolio displays can have different content.

## Make the salon service menu useful before a consultation

Group the menu around how guests ask about services, using the categories your salon actually offers. Give color services, cuts, or other relevant categories their own slides rather than squeezing every variation onto one image. Use the same names as reception so a guest can refer to the service they saw.

Include staff-approved prices and any explanation of consultation-dependent pricing beside the relevant service. A menu should tell guests what they can ask about and how the salon determines the price. Keep the complete consultation and individual quotation in your normal booking process.

## Show stylist work with enough context

A portfolio display can give a guest something concrete to discuss: a finished color, cut, or style shown in a photograph the salon has permission to use. Include a brief description of the work and a verified stylist credit where appropriate. Choose images that show the work clearly without filling the screen with client details.

Arrange the portfolio by a recognizable subject instead of mixing unrelated images at random. A short sequence could show several examples from one stylist or one service category. Guests can use those images as conversation references; the screen should not promise the same result for every person's hair.

## Put retail products next to a clear explanation

A product card can show the item, its name, and an explanation the salon has reviewed. Place the current approved price beside it if you want the display to act as a retail menu. A photograph of the product's packaging helps a guest recognize the same item on the shelf.

Connect the card to an action that matches the salon, such as asking a stylist about the product or speaking with reception. Keep product claims within the wording your team has approved. Better Signage does not read stock levels or prices from your checkout system, so staff maintain the uploaded cards when the product information changes.

## Introduce stylists and explain the reception process

A stylist introduction can combine a current portrait, name, and brief description of the work that person offers. Match it with permitted portfolio images so the introduction has substance beyond a staff photograph. Check role descriptions and credits before making the card public.

Reception content can explain where to check in, how to ask about a consultation, or whom to speak with about a future visit. Use a separate reception playlist when those instructions would interrupt a portfolio display elsewhere in the salon. A prepared booking instruction is appropriate; it does not show individual appointments or live availability.

## Use salon artwork and video on Apple TV

Upload finished JPEG or PNG menus, portfolio images, and product cards. Video uploads are converted to H.264 MP4 and play muted. Rework portrait social posts into landscape 16:9 artwork so hairstyle details and captions remain visible with crop-to-fill playback.

Each screen uses a physical Apple TV connected over HDMI. Check tvOS 26.5 or later and Better Signage App Store eligibility before purchasing hardware, which you supply separately. Free includes 50 MB of storage at $0 per month; paid plans start at $4.99 per month for 250 MB. Both include unlimited screens, with internet needed for setup and new publishes.

## What to put on your screen

### Reception service menu loop

Open with salon check-in information, then show separate menu cards for your actual service categories. Put consultation instructions and approved pricing conditions on the relevant card so guests know what to ask reception.

### One stylist's portfolio

Start with the stylist's approved portrait and current role, then show permitted examples of their work with verified credits. End with the salon's route for asking about a consultation.

### Color consultation references

Sequence a few approved photographs of color work your salon has performed. Label the service shown and invite a discussion with a stylist, without presenting the images as a promised result for every guest.

### Retail shelf companion

Show a current product's packaging, approved name, reviewed explanation, and verified price. Add a prompt to ask salon staff about it so the image connects to the physical product on the shelf.

### Silent salon introduction

Use landscape footage of your reception and approved salon spaces, with the salon name and useful explanations in the video. Check the footage for client permission and keep the clip understandable without music.

### An approved seasonal service offer

Prepare a card with the actual service, approved price or terms, applicable dates, and booking contact route. Staff should replace the item manually when the offer ends or its details change.

## Set up your digital signage on Apple TV

Connect a compatible Apple TV to your landscape TV over HDMI. Install Better Signage, open the app, and enter its pairing code in your web dashboard. Give each screen a name that tells you where it is.

1. Upload your finished JPEG or PNG slides and videos. Video conversion runs on our servers, and signage videos play silently.
2. Arrange the files in a playlist and choose how long each item stays on screen. Build text and logos into your artwork, with room around the edges for the default crop-to-fill display.
3. Select the Apple TVs you want to update and choose Play. The players download and check the media before starting the playlist. Send it again with Play whenever your content changes.

You need physical Apple TV hardware eligible to install Better Signage, running tvOS 26.5 or later. Internet is required for setup, downloads, and new publishes. Keep the app open on each player while it runs your signage.

## Common questions about salon digital signage

### What should a salon digital signage playlist show?

Service menus, permitted portfolio images, stylist introductions, retail product cards, and reception instructions are useful starting points. A portfolio display can have a different playlist from a TV used for reception information.

### Can we use photos and videos from our social accounts?

Yes, if you have permission to display the material. Prepare a landscape version where necessary and include useful captions in the file. Video playback is muted and the player uses crop-to-fill.

### Does the TV connect to our salon booking calendar?

No. Better Signage plays uploaded images and videos and does not embed booking calendars. Use a general instruction about booking or consultations, with individual appointments handled through your existing system.

### How much does salon digital signage cost?

Free is $0 per month with 50 MB of media storage and unlimited screens. Standard paid plans start at $4.99 per month for 250 MB, also with unlimited screens. You supply the compatible Apple TV and display for each screen separately.

### Can our retail prices update from the checkout system?

No. Product cards are prepared artwork without a checkout or inventory connection. Update the source image when a price or stock detail changes, then publish the revised playlist to the selected TVs with Play.

### Can several salon locations use different content?

Yes. Pair the compatible Apple TVs, prepare the relevant playlists, and choose the screens for each publish. Use each location's service details and team introductions where they differ.
