Pair, rename, or replace an Apple TV
Connect a player to your account and resolve expired or unrecognized pairing codes.
Updated September 22, 2026
Pair a player
- Open the Better Signage app on the Apple TV and leave the pairing screen visible.
- Sign in to your Better Signage dashboard. In Pair TV, enter the code currently shown on that Apple TV.
- Choose Pair TV and wait for confirmation. Use the screen name controls to give it a recognizable name.
- Use Pair another TV to connect additional players. Unlimited screens are included on Free and the standard paid plans.
Treat a pairing code as private. Share it only with someone authorized to add that Apple TV to your account.
If the code does not work
- Code expired: use the newest code shown on the Apple TV; a saved photo may be out of date.
- Code already used: check whether that TV is already in your dashboard, then use the code now displayed if it still needs pairing.
- Code not found: check each character and confirm the Apple TV is connected to the internet.
- No code appears: check the network and reopen the app when interrupting that display is safe.
Remove or replace a player
Use Remove on the old TV in Pair TV when you want to disconnect it. It stops receiving new playlists until paired again. Pair the replacement using its own code, then select it in Play and send the playlist.
Removing a dashboard screen is not a remote wipe of the Apple TV. If you are selling or returning hardware, use Apple’s device-reset process to remove local data.
